I take a lot of time to plan my classes..I write my classes out pose by pose...I go into my home studio to pracitce the class before bringing it to my students...I make note of the timing for each pose in the margins of my class plan...I sometimes even make note of interesting anecdotes that come to mind for a specific pose...I have a class plan for every single class I've taught & every single class that I will be teaching in the next week or two...I like to be prepared.
Sometimes though, I'm a bit stumped...I just can't find the right series of poses to fit what I'm trying to express. The theme I'm hoping that my students will identify with just doesn't fit with the flow I've put down on paper...lately, I've been turning to my ChallengeLoop.com family for my inspiration.
Since January I've been participating in a 365 Writing/Blogging about Yoga Challenge...this activity has not only helped me with my own blog (yes, you're reading it now!) but has offered me such wonderful inspiration! My fellow bloggers have inspired me to reach out beyond my comfort zone. Of late I have blogged about things that I usually wouldn't put out there.
Being part of this group has offered me a new yoga "family" if you will....a group of like-minded people who perhaps understand not only the life of a Yoga Practioner, but the challenges of blogging on a regular basis...being part of a "challenge" has really increased my commitment to keeping my blog posts more regular...I know that I get so very disappointed when I find a post that I truly like & then after reading it I realize that it was written 2 or 3 years ago & there is nothing since then...I want to be current...I want my readers to keep coming back....
What do you want to read about? Would you like to Guest Post here at Freedom Yoga? I would love to hear about what you have to say about Yoga....do you practice Yoga? Do you teach Yoga? Let me know what you think! How has Yoga changed your life?
Namaste my Friends!
